Tango Porteño recovers that spirit crystallized in a unique place. Magically it recreates the best and most transcendental time ever in the history of tango framed within a luxurious building of those days that used to be a movie theater of the Metro Goldwyn Meyer. The old and beloved Metro, just a few steps away from the Obelisk today becomes Tango Porteño, a place blending the most refined environment and pure golden days’ deco with great artists, unbeatable productions, and first class cuisine paying home to the represented time. It could not be otherwise because Tango Porteño is the image of Buenos Aires, the “City of Tango.”

30 kmts away from the City of Buenos Aires, Tigre and its delta leads us deep into a natural scenery where the thickness of the shrub land is embraced by various channels of reddish waters.

Our delta is the third in the world as regards size, following the famous Nile River Delta (in Africa) and the Amazonas River Delta (in the North of Latin America). Nevertheless, its 27 thousand square kilometres have been hardly exploited. Enjoy one hour boat ride on the Delta.

7 Day 7:Mendoza

Breakfast at Hotel

There is nothing like a sightseeing tour to get to know the City of Mendoza. The sights are more than attractive when visited in the company of a guide or local that may show the natural, cultural and historical features of this beautiful destination.

The tour around the city and surrounding areas allows people to see a modern city known for its trees, canals, wide sidewalks and cleanness.

This trip tells about the history and culture of a town founded by colonizers more than four centuries ago.

On the tour, you will see the following places: 'La Alameda' (a pedestrian road), the Foundational Area (Pedro del Castillo Square), the Aquarium, the 'Serpentario' (snakes' exhibition), the main avenues downtown, the Independencia Square, the Civic neighbourhood and Emilio Civit Avenue, which leads to San Martin Park, one of the most important and impressive green urban areas of the city. At the park, we will see its little forests, the rose garden, an artificial lake and sports clubs until we get to the top of 'Cerro de la Gloria' (Glory's Hill) where we will see a monument to the Liberating Army. Near here, the Amphitheatre Frank Romero Day, where the traditional Harvest Festival is held every year, complements the trip and gives the tourist a general idea of what the capital of Mendoza has to offer.

8 Day 8: Mendoza/Santiago

Breakfast at Hotel

The trip begins in Mendoza, leaving the city through the National route 7, an area filled with small farms and vineyards. Soon after, following the route that skirts the winding course of the Mendoza river, and catching sight of El Cordón de Plata right ahead, you will leave the countryside behind in order to enter the pre-mountain range area. The first stop will be in Potrerillos, a small mountain town, with weekend residences belonging to the inhabitants of Mendoza.

Thence there is an unbeatable view of the Potrerillos dock which forms a breathtaking artificial lake. The following section of the route leads to Uspallata, framed by mountainous landscapes with

changing colours, filled with varied formations and many tunnels in the route. The famous film ‘Seven years in Tibet’ was filmed in this valley.

The trip continues towards several other small mountain towns, Polvaredas, Punta de Vacas, Penitentes, until reaching Puente del Inca, a place filled with natural and strange formations that has thermal waters. The ruins of the first thermal spring hotel, built in 1917 and destroyed by an avalanche in 1965, can be seen.

Aconcagua, the giant watcher, will become a distant companion during this part of the way while you travel towards Las Cuevas, the limiting border with Chile, which is 3150 mts above ocean level.

Right after leaving the border you’ll pass the Portillo Ski Resort. Then the road continues down via a series of 27 switchbacks; once you’re through the curves then you follow the river but in no time you get into greener countryside – first small trees and then huge vineyards. It’s only about a two hour drive to Santiago from the border.
